How this ranking is built
Only products that clear one gate appear above: a rating of 4.0 or better from at least 10 reviews in a pool we do not control. A rating on a seller’s own store is marketing, and a 5.0 from a handful of reviews is not evidence, so neither qualifies a product for this page.
Products that clear the gate are then ordered on four published facts:
- Satisfaction (35%). the rating itself, across the 4.0 to 5.0 range.
- Confidence (20%). how many reviews that rating rests on, on a log curve. The tenth review tells you far more than the three-thousandth.
- Value (25%). price per ounce, compared only against products of the same category and physical form. A drain gallon is never ranked against a pet spray.
- Evidence (20%). how well the product proves what it contains. L1 means a specific enzyme is named in the manufacturer’s own document; L2 means enzyme content is evidenced without naming one.
Where a product does not publish one of those inputs, the remaining weights are redistributed and the entry says so. Nothing is estimated to fill a gap. Every figure above also appears on that product’s own page with the source it was read from and the date it was read.
